2 Math Question(-: The cost of a student ticket to the school play is $7. write an equation that correctly relates the total cost, c for a particular number, s, of a student tickets purchased. identify the independent and dependent values. Complete the function table and write the function rule. Input (x) | Output (y) 32 | 20 14 | 2 ? | -6 -2 | -14 -10 | ?
|dw:1402274356246:dw|
|dw:1402274418437:dw|
question 1: (cost) equals (amount) times (number of tickets) question 2: 32 - 20 = 12 14 - 2 = 12 so it's the first column minus 12 = second column
Oh my, thank you so soo much ^_^
no problem :) as for the difference between independent and dependent would you say "The cost will be $14, ... wait, how many tickets are you getting?" or "How many tickets are you getting? 2? ok, that will be $14" the first is if Cost was independent the second is if cost was dependent

yes
Oh okay, Thanks(-:
So this is a correct answer ?? 32 - 20 = 12 14 - 2 = 12 So, it's the first column minus 12 = second column So, it's the second column plus 12 = first column Now, you add 12 to -6 which will equal 6, So 6 is the number that belongs on the third column on the left/first. Now. you subtract 12 to -10 which will equal -22, So -22 is the number that belongs on the third column on the right/second.
that is correct! :)
If a student purchases 2 tickets then you multiply 2 by $7 which will equal $14. The dependent variable is 2, and the independent variable is $7.
Ty and this one ?
not quite :) it's asking which is dependent and which is independent? cost and tickets? the example I gave was supposed to demonstrate the logic on how to choose it, sorry if it confused you :/
write an equation that correctly relates the total cost, c for a particular number, s, of a student tickets purchased. and identify the independent and dependent values. its okay(-:
