FAN AND MEDAL State the degree of the polynomial. xy^3 + 3x^2y – 7 A. 3 B. 2 C. 1 D. 4

OpenStudy (xguardians):

A) 3 Reason is its the highest degree xy^3 so the degree of the whole polynomial is 3.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's actually not A. You have to combine the orders of each variable.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah so it would be D

OpenStudy (xguardians):

@RyanE what do you mean by that? I just learned this stuff and nowhere did it say combine orders :o

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@RyanE is correct, I had done this before and got it wrong cause I did it the same way you did. Yu do have to combine first
