explain Distributive property in a simple way
The Distributive Law says that multiplying a number by a group of numbers added together is the same as doing each multiplication separately Example: 3 × (2 + 4) = 3×2 + 3×4 Here is how you would solve a harder problem like this: 4y(5 - 3) Here, you must distribute (multiply) the 4x to 5 and -3. Remember 4y(5 - 3) = 4y × 5 + 4y × -3. So by multiplying 4y to 5 you get 20y and with multiplying 4y to -3 you get -12y. So the new expression is 20y - 12y.
Hope you understand now. :) Feel free to ask questions. :)
