Please help!! Giving a medal and fan.

What is the volume of the composite figure? 55 cubic yards 120 cubic yards 135 cubic yards 167 cubic yards Please help. Don't just give me the answer. Help.

OpenStudy (hugsnotughs):

Okay...so I think the way you do this is by finding the volume of both figures (seperately) then add them. :) So you would be finding the volume of the pyramid first...then find the volume of the rectangular prism next...combine the two volumes by adding. :) Remember... \[Volume~of~pyramid=\frac{ lwh }{ 3 }\]\[Volume~of~Rectangular~Prism=lwh\]

Thank you so much!!! I understand! Thank you soo much for not giving the answer away. A lot of people do that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got 135 is that correct?

@hugsnotughs

OpenStudy (hugsnotughs):

Ur welcome! I like to explain when I can. c: Let me check if you got it right because I didn't solve it, I just gave you the rule for when finding the volume of composite figures. :)

OpenStudy (hugsnotughs):

So... Volume for Rectangular Prism: 120 Volume for Pyramid: 15 120 + 15 = 135. Correct! :D

Oh my gosh!!! Yay!!! Thank you so much!!!!!!!

OpenStudy (hugsnotughs):

Ur welcome. I am glad I helped! I hope u get an A+! Have a nice night. :3
