PLEASE HELP!!! I'LL FAN AND MEDAL

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Triangle ABC is a right triangle. Point D is the midpoint of side AB and point E is the midpoint of side AC. The measure of angle ADE is 47°.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The flowchart with missing statements and reasons proves that the measure of angle ECB is 43°:

Which statement and reason can be used to fill in the numbered blank spaces? Corresponding angles are congruent Triangle Sum Theorem Measure of angle AED is 43°. Alternate interior angles are congruent Base Angle Theorem Measure of angle AED is 47° Base Angle Theorem Corresponding angle are congruent Measure of angle AED is 43°. Alternate interior angles are congruent Triangle Sum Theorem Measure of angle AED is 47°

OpenStudy (koikkara):

Alright... you have two angles given...right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah

OpenStudy (koikkara):

1. hope you know two parallel lines are transversal?|dw:1402315916119:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, those are corresponding angles, right?

OpenStudy (koikkara):

yup..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay so that would eliminate B and D

OpenStudy (koikkara):

exactly... then...?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, both A and C say corresponding angles and that angle AED is 43 degrees..

OpenStudy (koikkara):

hmm, but in case of C, Corresponding angle are congruent Measure of angle AED is 43°. ... is it possible ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I can't be sure...

OpenStudy (koikkara):

The Sum sum of 3 angles add up to 180, so when you are given one angle is 90, another angle is 47 and sum of 3 angles is 180. you can figure out the 3rd angle must be 43...guess so..

OpenStudy (koikkara):

@ganeshie8 Hope it is right ..?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

absolutely !!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So that makes it triangle sum theorem... thanks! I suck at this stuff

OpenStudy (koikkara):

@ganeshie8 thanks i do improve good for entrance too...lol !

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

you're awesome ! :)
