50=-6x+4x-8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so to do this, you have to get x by itself right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so in order to do that, you're going to have to add 8 to both sides so that -6x+4x=58 ok? Are you with me so far?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so the next step is since there is -6x+4x, we can combine like terms so that its -2x ok? sso the next equation will be -2x=58

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and finally the last step is to get x by itself and the only way to do so is to divide by -2 on both sides. so the answer will be x=-29

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you understand?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i do!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

great :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks for the help and i got -29 for my answer by the way.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok great no problem :)
