@anonymous_user can you help?
How about drawing a rectangle joining (-5,-8), (-5,0), (3,0), (3,-8). Find the area of the rectangle. Subtract the area the 4 unwanted triangles and you have the required area.
Ok can you help me as I try to work it out?
I'm not sure how i'm supposed to find the area of the rectangle
@DominicNg can you help me find the area of the rectangle?
One side runs from -5 to 3, so that side is 8. The other side runs from -8 to 0, so that side too is 8
what about the other sides? I don't get it..
you only need 2 sides to find the area of a rectangle (in this case it is a square). Multiply them together 8*8=64
Ok so the area of a rectangle is 64 then what do i do?
Here is the full explanation.
No offence what it's really hard for me to read that :x
That x is multiplication sign.
no I mean the whole page I really can't read it.
Please download PDF and you should be able to read it. Many others have no problem reading documents based on the format.
