Triangle LMN has vertexes at L(-1, -6), M(1, -6), and N(1, 1). Find the measure of angle L to the nearest degree So I was doing this and was told that I could do tanL=7/2 but then after that I got like stumped and now i'm confused

We can find the lengths of sides LM and MN easily: |dw:1402341022825:dw| You are correct, to find the measure of angle L, use this equation \(\tan L = \dfrac{7}{2} \) To continue you simply divide 7 by 2 to get: \(\tan L = 3.5\) Now use the inverse tangent function to find the measure of angle L. \(L = \tan^{-1} 3.5\)
