eliminate the parameter and write the corresponding rectangular equation whose graph represents the curve. x=cos(theta) y=2sin^2(theta)

OpenStudy (mathmale):

dcardona: You are asked to eliminate the parameter (which in this problem is the angle theta) and end up with a function in x and y with the same graph as the set of parametric equations has. You could easily solve x=cos(theta) for theta. How would you express the result (theta)? Substitute this formula for theta into that for y.
