OpenStudy (anonymous):

Let me get one thing straight before I start answering: Are you looking for the answers? Or are you looking for help getting to the answers?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I just wanna know that way I can give you a great experience. Sorry if that came out rude in any way.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1) National Security 2) Free and Open Trade 3) World Peace 4) Democratic Governments 5) Concern for Humanity If you need further explanation let me know

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The definition of Foreign Policy is as follows: for·eign pol·i·cy: noun a government's strategy in dealing with other nations. "a scathing critic of US foreign policy"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So @Jennaaaaaa, can you think of any other examples using that definition, and the example?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@LexiLuvv2431 The only example of foreign policy you provided would be trade. The rest of the answers you gave don't have the first thing to do with a government strategy in dealing with other nations.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know a example would be the united states places limits on how many people from each country could come into the united states.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Immigration is really more of an example of Domestic Policy.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How about War? Would that be an example of foreign policy?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, you would think it would be

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Why?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Because they want to keep wars from the US. or like in the North and South Korea, when they helped?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not exactly. War is a good example of Foreign policy. Some say it is the most effective foreign policy. War is a bad thing for the loser, and a great thing for the winner. Wars are always fought over ideological differences between the two combatants. Its also a way to coerce another nation into doing what you want through brute force.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, so we have two. Trade and War. Can you think of another one? I'll give you a hint to one, the Vice President of the United States is the chief officer relating to this type of foreign policy.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I need one more BTW. An not really related to the hint, but does is this one? State pass laws requiring everyone to carry proof of U.S. Citizenship

OpenStudy (anonymous):

***count as one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No that is not an example, because states are not sovereign countries.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Remember, a foreign policy is a policy that one country adopts to deal with another country.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so, maybe... um

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Think of the hint I gave you, what are the duties of the Vice President of the United States?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, i can't think of anything like that. Can i try another example, that I thought of?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Their goals include security for its citizens and peace around the world.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, go ahead. If you think of an example, go for it!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

International Organization?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yep, thats what I was getting at. Diplomacy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Diplomacy, Trade Embargoes
