Hey. :-) Sorry for not coming when you tagged me before, my dog was barking at someone outside. D; Well I think that Dr Sun declaring himself to be the president of China was a joke, basically after his declaration of presidency most of the war lords around China laughed heartily and ignored him...but officially he is the first President of China, though of course he located his presidency in the mostly out of the way Guangzhou (been to his headquarters which is very small with one telephone). He is also the official "Father of the Chinese revolution" honoured by both the Nationalists and the Communists. One of the first things he did do as President was close all foreign concessions, which made all the foreigners laugh heartily and ignore him. While he was opposed to both the Manchurian rulers of China and other foreign powers dividing up China among themselves, the reality is that he was highly influenced by western thought and technology. His rule started the era of Modern China with western clothes and technology. Sorry for babbling.. cx. I say B.
