also >> It costs $100 to join a fitness center plus a monthly fee. You spent $700 last year at the fitness center. How much was the monthly fee? Write and solve an equation to determine the monthly fee.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The answer would be C. d > 2 With inequalities, you can treat < and > signs just like you would an equal sign in algebra. The answer is C because you can move that - 6 over to the other side, adding 6 to the -4, making it d > 2

It'll be c. :) Here's my reference.. https://mathway.com

I also agree with @stedan18

@stedan18, please do not begin your explanations with statements such as "The answer is C". Such statements are akin to "giving the answer" which is a direct violation of the Open Study Code of Conduct. Please read it before answering any more questions. http://openstudy.com/code-of-conduct

Do you understand it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, you spent $700 in 12 months, which means that you spent $600 of that (700 minus the $100 joining fee) on monthly fees alone. So, $600 divided by 12 months means the monthly fee is $50/month. You can express this as the equation: Cost = 50x + 100 where x is the amount of months

hero (hero):

Furthermore, when you give answers in that manner, it sets a bad example for other users as they'll assume that it is okay to give answers without explaining or guiding first.

Thanks @stedan18 I understand now(-: It's fine I understand how to do this now c:
