I'm confused as to when are where coursework is due.. There is no instructions (that I could find) in the syllabus.. Am I missing something?

OpenCourseWork provides free course materials for the public to use as they wish. They do not grade your work, or give you any sort of credit for doing it. It is for the sake of knowledge. http://ocw.mit.edu/help/faq-ocw-scholar/#how-are-they-different-from-other-courses However, there are MOOC's that do offer certificates. Google can help you find those.

Haha Thanks :) I thought by enrolling I was going to need to turn work in and be graded

I don't understand why they stated that is was a 9 week course if there is no actual timeframe for completion, or why one would need to enroll in the course to have access to the video lectures and materials

http://ocw.mit.edu/help/get-started-with-ocw/ If you are indeed talking about open course work from MIT, then there is no enrolling. What are you referring to when you say that you "enrolled"? Note: Read the link, it probably answers all of your questions.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No need to enroll for MIT open courses. Indeed, there are problem sets for course-takers to do.

Thanks for the replies, I had actually signed up for an EDX course (6.00) and somehow got directed to the coursework and lectures here!
