(a) well in the 1st triangle you will have (blue) P = 4x + 2 + 7x + 7 + 5x - 4 you need to collect like terms P = 16x + 5 Repeat the step for the red triangle (b) is simply the subtraction of the perimeters P(blue) - P(red) = 16x + 5 - ......... (c) substitute x = 3 P(blue) = 16(3) + 5 = 53 hope this helps
