Use the FOIL pattern to find the product. (3x + 6)(3x – 8)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it 9x^2+6x+48 Idk if it is

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

Foil. Multiply the two first terms then the outer terms next is the inner terms and the last is the last terms. Usually if you can find some weird/wacky way to remember the process/principles of these things it helps and it sticks to your mind. . Signs are a bit different: (3x+6)(3x-8) 9x^2-24x+18x-48 9x^2-6x-48

OpenStudy (xguardians):

Multiply the outers. 9x^2 Outer to inner -24x Inner to inner 18x Inner to Outer -48 Put it all together: 9x^2 - 6x - 48 You were close, but good job!
