Simplify cube root of 24a^6b^5.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is the equation: \[\sqrt[3]{24a^6b^5}\] The answer of this equation is \[2a^2b^3\sqrt{3b^2}\] I do not understand how my teacher simplified the 24 and "b"

I will give a metal for anyone who helps me*

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

24 is 8 times 3. Since 8 is a perfect cube, it can be taken out as a 2. 3 is prime so it will have to stay under the root.

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

b^5 can be rewritten as b^3*b^2. b^3 is a perfect cube so it comes out of the root as b, but b^2 has to stay.
