Help! I am pretty sure it is d but not sure. A circle has its center at (-1, 2) and a radius of 3 units. What is the equation of the circle? a. (x - 1)^2 + (y + 2)&2 = 3 b. (x + 1)^2 + (y - 2)^2 = 3 c. (x + 1)^2 + (y + 2)^2 = 9 d. (x + 1)^2 + (y - 2)^2 = 9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well we can eliminate a because it says x - 1 and the point is -1 so that would mean we need to x +1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you see any others we can eliminate? @sdfghj

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its between b and d. i just don't know if it =3 or =9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Correct, And to determine that we need to know the radius which is 3 and you need to square the radius because the left side is squared so based on this what woul dbe the right answer? @sdfghj

OpenStudy (anonymous):

d. thanks

Correct :D
