A rectangular field is 80 yards wide and 125 yards long. Give the length and width of another rectangular field that has the same perimeter but a larger area.
@Hero -can you help me with this please
1. First, understand that length will always be longer than width so note which value represents length and which value represents width. 2. Second, create a rectangle that represents the original rectangular field. Include the values of the side length/width. 3. Find the perimeter of the original rectangular field and the area of the original rectangular field That should get you started.
the area of the original rectangle is: 10,000yrds & the perimeter is 410yrds.. i dont get what im supposed to do now
Basically, what you have to do now is some manipulation. Try increasing/decreasing the the values of the length and width while keeping the perimeter the same. For example: The total length is 250 The total width is 160 Try increasing the total length while decreasing the total width. Whatever you add to the total length should be subtracted from the total width in order to keep the perimeter at 410 yards. Afterwards, calculate the area again to see if the area has increased.
Everytime I try i get a smaller area, nvm i just dont get this at all
thanks anyways
So you're just going to give up?
Actually there's something I haven't mentioned that you should probably know about.
im taking a timed test thats all, if i spend all my time on this im going to fail everything else...
And now you have just mentioned something that will cause me to have to cease helping you. You should know that we cannot help you with tests here. You've been on the site long enough to know this.
why not if im the one doing the work thats retarded
