Present at least one example that illustrates acceleration. Is this a scalar or vector quantity? Explain why

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You know that acceleration tells us the rate of change of velocity/rate of change of time.\[a=\Delta v/\Delta t\]. An example of this could be a car speeding up, slowing down or changing direction. And this is a vector quantity because It is a scalar (distance -or- speed) plus a direction. And the definition of vector is magnitude and direction. Hope this help. :/
