explain how to find the common ratio of a geometric sequence.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

simply pick any term of that sequence then divide that term by the previous term to get the common ratio

Thanks, i thought i knew but i wasnt sure

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

example 2, 10, 50, 250, 1250 Pick any term. I'm picking 250 Divide by the previous term: 250/50 = 5 So the common ratio is 5. You should check all other pairs to make sure that the common ratio is the same throughout.
