So I'm going to see if I can figure this one out, don't help yet. :) Just tell me if I'm going in the right direction. :)

rishavraj (rishavraj):

what???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Mrs. Waight graphed the following system of linear equations: 3x + y= -1 2x - y = -4 Which of the following is a solution of the system of equations? I'm not gifving the answer choices so that no one can give me the answer. Ignore the title. I need help , walk me through it? @Hero

rishavraj (rishavraj):

use elimination process to solve that...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't know how to... That's why I put this question... @Hero @mathmale @mathslover @satellite73 @johnweldon1993

rishavraj (rishavraj):

hey how would u solve x + y = 8 4x - 2y = 14 ???

OpenStudy (dan815):

substituion(where you elimnate the number of independant variables) or gaussian elimination(the matrices way get in the form that tells you what x and y are)

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Only experience will tell you which of the several ways of solving such a system of linear equations is best suited for the problem at hand. If you choose to use an algebraic approach, then you'll need to decide whether to use elimination by substitution or elimination by addition / subtraction. Which do you think would be the easier for you, and why?

rishavraj (rishavraj):

@CrazyCountryGirl having problem solving via algebrraic method then u can use determinant to solve the same...
