How do you know?

ahh its been far too long since i've done statistics... Overlap, as far as I remember, would just be the shared range of values between the two sets. In this case, both sets share the range of 51-83. set A goes higher, set B goes lower. Mean I'm sure you can calculate yourself, just sum of all the numbers in a set divided by the number of numbers in that set. Mean absolute deviation, once again is a lot of tedious math. Find the mean, then find the average distance that every number is from the mean (this sites good if you need more help: http://www.mathsisfun.com/data/mean-deviation.html ) and finally, which ever set has the higher Mean deviation would be more variable! Good luck

aha! great explanation thanks ;)
