The product of two consecutive positive even integers is 440. What are the integers?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Product is the two numbers multiplied by each other give you 440.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Consecutive means they are one after the other

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You are given another hint, the two integers have to be even

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So it's just testing some numbers, if we did 20 * 20, that would give us 400... so can you see what two numbers equal 440?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

An equation to solve this would be x(x+2)=440

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you want a precise method, but trial and error works just as well!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, you could use an equation... I did it by testing numbers

Same @jtryon

thank you so much :)
