7x + 3 / -(3x + 5)

Elsa213 (elsa213):

combine like terms, have the x terms on one side and the regular numbers on the other 7x-3=3x=5 first get all the x's on one side by subtracting 3x 7x-3x -3=5 then add 3 on both sides 7x-3x=5+3 now combine like terms 4x = 8 now get x by itself by dividing both sides by 4 4x/4 = 8/4 and you get x=2
