Choose the equation of the vertical line passing through the point (-2, 3). y = 3 x = 3 y = -2 x = -2
Look at the x-value in the point. x = -2. Now, go find the equation of the line.
verticl means?
x = -2 is the answer just use the method I told you before.
okay thank
i think u mean vertical to x axis. right?
Do you not know what vertical means? @shamim
it may vertical to y axis
"Vertical" is PARALLEL to the y-axis.
ok. understood
It would have to be vertical to the y axis. Vertical is up and down horizontal is left to right.
"vertical to the y axis" doesn't mean anything. Words are not being used correctly. If a line is PARALLEL to the y-axis, that line is VERTICAL. "vertical to" is not meaningful.
Yes it was poor wording sorry for being a 9th grader who could care less about how I said it as long as he understood.
If you say "vertical to the y-axis", you will not be understood. It is not just poor wording. It is not meaningful and cannot be translated. It's okay to be in 9th grade. It's even more okay to learn. Learning how to communicate ideas is part of the learning of mathematics. That's why we're here.
Okay well to the mind of a 9th grader it's perfectly understood sometimes people better understand the teachings of people younger rather than people older that try to use methods like common core and stuff that's why kids do homework together as friends because sometimes it's easier to understand that way than from a teacher.
