OpenStudy (cydney_morgan):

Can someone help me to compare and contrast Gas and Plasma?

OpenStudy (cydney_morgan):

I don't really know what plasma is, exactly. But I do know what gas is. (Gas as in the states of matter)

OpenStudy (cydney_morgan):

Let me look at the link! ^=^

OpenStudy (cydney_morgan):

Can you tell me what exactly Plasma is? I'm confused. :C

OpenStudy (somy):

plasma has more energy the gas it's electrons are not bonded to a specific atom

OpenStudy (cydney_morgan):

So.. It's kind of like gas, being that it can move freely and stuff; but it just has more energy?

OpenStudy (somy):

yes its very similar to gases, but the atoms are different because they are made up of free elections and ions of the element

OpenStudy (cydney_morgan):

So for my answer I would put: Plasma and Gas are very similar in form, being that they can both move around freely. Unlike gas on the other hand, Plasma carries much more energy than gas, being that the electrons are not connected to any specific atom. Is that good @Somy ? Or am I missing something?

OpenStudy (cydney_morgan):

Trying to learn here as well, for future references.

OpenStudy (somy):

after energy use this - very similar to gases, but the atoms are different because they are made up of free elections and ions of the element

OpenStudy (somy):

atoms of plasma*

OpenStudy (cydney_morgan):

THANK YOU SO MUCH! Out of my whole little practice quiz, I was confused on this the most. Thanks so so so much.

OpenStudy (somy):

you are welcome :)

OpenStudy (cydney_morgan):

Again, Thank you for not just giving me the answer, I actually learned something, so thank you.

OpenStudy (somy):

:D np)
