so since we don't know the prices of the drinks and the popcorn, then we can replace them with a variable. not necessarily with x though, you can do it with some other letters because it will then probably get mixed up. so since there are six of each, we have 6d (d for drinks) and 6b (bags of popcorn). then we combine them altogether to get $23.70 .
