A wall socket trips the circuit breaker at 10 amps when the iron and microwave are both plugged in together, but they ran together for a while. voltage is constant at 110v for both appliances. The iron has an internal resistance of 22 ohms. what is the resistance of the microwave (assume that the total current is effectively 10 amps)

OpenStudy (shamim):

u know v=iR

OpenStudy (shamim):

we hv to apply this formula for iron

OpenStudy (shamim):

110=I1*22 I1=5amp

OpenStudy (shamim):

again we will use this formula for microwave

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you!

OpenStudy (shamim):

u r most welcome
