What is the image of O(-2, -1) after two reflections, first across the line y = -5, then across the line x = 1? A. (-2, -1) B. (-1, -6) C. (4, -9) D. (1, -5)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it's A, please tell me if i'm right or not! @Luigi0210

@mathmale I just need to know if I'm correct or not, Im so pressed for time im panicking

hero (hero):

This is what you are given right? https://www.desmos.com/calculator/sxkna6yjrg

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Hero yes

hero (hero):

First reflect the point about the line y = -5. What are the coordinates of the reflected point?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Hero i have like 20 miniutes to finish this im so sorry but just this once can you please just tell me if im correct or not

hero (hero):

It will only take you about 10-15 seconds to figure out the coordinates of the point after reflecting it about y = -5.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Hero ok. according to your graph, b?

hero (hero):

Explain in detail how you arrived at choice B. What steps did you take to get to that result?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Hero I simply reflected it to what you told me to do, while looking at your graph. then, looking at my answer choices, I realized that it was B considering where I was at... unless, of course, i did it wrong.

hero (hero):

What does reflecting a point about a line mean to you? Explain what you believe the process is.
