OpenStudy (blues):

Is it possible to re-lock titles? I played with them for the sake of playing with them (maybe my mistake, maybe I'll have to live with it) - but I would rather go back to being an ordinary "Mentor."

OpenStudy (blues):

Also, it should be "Big *Person* on the Hippocampus."

mathslover (mathslover):

Sorry to say, but I don't think that there is any feature to "re-lock" the titles. And yes, *BIG MAN* sounds only for men. will be better if we make it BIG PERSON !

OpenStudy (blues):

Another thought about titles - should they be scaled differently in the different groups according to the total volume of questions, hence medals? My 1700 biology medals took three years to get because there are not that many questions asked in the biology group, whereas the question volume in math is much higher and equivalent volumes of medals are much more rapidly accumulated.

mathslover (mathslover):

You have got suitable point Blues! I agree with your point. Users get medals in mathematics group very easily, even they can get 10 medals for a single post. This is because Mathematics is active and has a lot of users seeking for help. On the other hand, Biology group and some other groups are not *so* active. So, i guess, you're right and these titles should be scaled according to the groups.

OpenStudy (compassionate):

I agree they should be relative to the traffic of a particular subject. You can't change your title, I guess. Sit pack and sip on your tea, you're stuck now.

OpenStudy (abhisar):

I agree Maths section is so crowded.. and Even i dont like the title BIG MAN........

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Most of them read it as Big man on th HIPPOPOTAMUS in first attempt :D

OpenStudy (blues):

There should be some way to distinguish tutors who help in particular groups - maybe give people with some bench mark (as in 500 medals in a subject or something that demonstrates reasonable commitment and competence) title like "biology tutor" that is nice and simple? I'm still getting inquiries to tutor subject I don't tutor - I don't think "big man on the hippocampus" is doing its job, which is indicate that I tutor in biology. :/

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Yes that's an good idea and titles like biology tutor should be visible to all like members of all the groups @blues

OpenStudy (blues):

Or the users should appear in each group according to their status in that group, rather than over the whole site. The person who is the most help in biology should be the first user displayed on the biology page. The person who is the most help in math should be the first person displayed on the math page. SmartScore would still be there, SmartScore would still compare people across the entire site just the way it is supposed to - but no one would bugger me for help in physics (which would be a disaster for them).

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Yes any one of them can do !

thomaster (thomaster):

1. Agreed, the price for titles should be scaled to the question frequency. 2. I don't even like the big man on the hippocampus title, most people do not even know what a hippocampus is, and that it is related to biology (the brain). 3. Long titles should be displayed below the username instead of broken in 2 lines. 4. You should be able to switch between titles in the same group and turn them off.

OpenStudy (compassionate):

Well, on a post, like yours', the title should be next to your username, but when viewing titles on the homepage I feel they should be below your username.

OpenStudy (abhisar):

I saw some of the users in mathematics section already have the final title, no one have this in the bio section yet. This i think probably is due to the fact that there are much more users in maths section

OpenStudy (preetha):

I take your point with Big Man... I missed that when I went over the titles...And we are reviewing as we speak. good to have this feedback.
