For instance when if I have a cosine of 5 over sqrt of 34 how would I know that it is relevant to 0.86? , because I wanted to know where they got this number from in my school-work.. I just have no idea, so could someone please help?

OpenStudy (mathmate):

Unfortunately 0.86 appears to be approximate, and could range from 0.855 to 0.65, and can therefore come from 5/sqrt(34)=0.85749..

OpenStudy (harsha19111999):

Hey you have 5 over sqrt of 34 degrees. So, use a calculator and find the value it will be 5.83.... And find cos(5.83...). Then you will get 0.86
