what are two reasons that the atomic bombing of hiroshima & Nagasaki was a good thing?
Well, I have to say that I do not, and may never, agree with the bombing. Maybe it's because I'm not American, or maybe because it just wasn't right, since it sort of was a way for America to rub it in the Soviet Union's face that they were stronger, leading to the Cold War. But if there was a good reasoning, it could be because: A - it ended WWII. Many allies and Japanese would have continued fighting if it weren't for the bombs executing Total Warfare, in which the Japanese were rendered unable to fight any longer B - it reduced the amount of estimated loss had there been more fighting. The amount of civilians dead by the bomb was less than ten percent of the amount of people that would have died (millions) if the Japanese continued fighting. The Japanese weren't the type to give up, honour and stuff, so the bombs taking away strongholds (weapon factories and whatnot) was a way to make them surrender.
