very soon most of the regularly attending open study users will be moderators. That kills the purpose of having a mod, if everyone is a mod ;)

Just like having a plantation with a slave driver per every 1-3 slave(s). Mod should not be the only mod, but he shouldn't be one out of 200.

As far as I understand,asking to become a moderator decreases your chance of becoming one. Have patience and try to follow the code of conduct.

@goformit100 you haven't been very active on the site lately so the chances of becoming a moderator soon are quite low. Also Aravind is right, mods are chosen by administrators carefully and asking for or suggesting moderatorship decreases your chances.

I've never understood the infatuation with becoming a moderator. Trust me, I've been a moderator on several popular forums. It's nothing to get excited about. There has been talk about my adoption into the moderator family on OpenStudy, twice, as far as I know, but I am too young for the position. But, what does it matter? Just use the platform, be helpful, help the community and have a general consensus of loyalty and respect.

It's not like becoming a moderator gives you magical wings and solves all your problems in life. It's an extra payload that actually creates them and provides you with additional tasks. It's not like a joyride of sparkles and rainbows.

I mean, even with Ambassadorships can create additional problems. We have duties and task. We participate in events and uphold morals. The higher you climb the hierarchy the more mature you are required to behave. You're also given more responsibilities and deadlines to meet (phew). Like, today, I have to spend five hours submitting logs to the team. Kick back and enjoy being a member. It's not a bad position, actually.

If the administrators see you're fluid, mature, and follow the rules, you'll likely become your desired position within a few years. However, if they see you're begging to become a moderator and rarely get on OpenStudy, they're likely going to blacklist you. Just relax and be cool, man.

@goformit100 there are many users who have been offered modship and refused. Definitely not kids. At first I was all excited about becoming a mod (obviously) but if you see all the pointless drama that goes on in the chats and private messages you'd think twice about really putting an effort in achieving mod status. It's (like compassionate said) not all rainbows and sunshine, you get to deal with a lot of hate and insults, and on top of that, frustration about the ridiculously easy ways users can work around the actions you take against them.
There is no shortcut manual to become a mod in a week. It usually takes months if not years to get there. No offense intended at all, but looking at your logged history, you still have a very long way to go.

The history I'm talking about is the list of all warnings and suspensions that have been issued. But let bygones be bygones, if you remain active from now, and abide by the CoC at all times you might have a chance of getting asked, but definitely not in a week. 3-6 months minimum would be more like it.

They never replied my e-mail. I was having my Engineering Examination the next day. and that situation on repeated sending e-mail didn't work. They lead to my failing in my examination. OpenStudy is only the place where I get best help, and they dindn't returned my account iwithin three days. huh

mods have been suspended in the past for misbehavior. I know at least 2 cases where this happened.

There are no bad moderators currently, all of them (the ones who are active) are doing their job just fine.
