In my estimations you did "a" correctly and got a slope of 3/2. I then used the point on your line that is between t = 3 and t= 7 of (5, 13) applied the point-slope formula to it and came out with a y intercept for that part of the line at 11/2. That line between t = 3 and t = 7 is not linear with the line between t = 0 and t = 2.999999999 so it has a different slope and a different y intercept. Try the point-slope formula with the point (5, 13) and see what you get for a y intercept

for the second part, since the distance traveled by both are equal (it takes an equal amount of distance traveled til they both are at the same point) set Michael's rate and time equal to Katies rate and time. \[-3t+16=\frac{ 3 }{ 2 }x+\frac{ 11 }{ 2 }\]and solve for t
