Let's start with the first problem.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

What is the measure of the angle made by a tangent to a circle and a radius to the point of tangency?

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

In other words, what are the measures of angles 1 and 2 in the figure above?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

um i don't not know but i'll guess 1. is 46 and 2. wouldn't it be the same as 1.

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

How do you come up with 46?

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Btw, you are correct that angles 1 and 2 are congruent.

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

This should help: The angle made by a tangent to a circle and a radius to the point of tangency is a right angle. Therefore, its measure of 90.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

um ok because what i was about to say really sounded dumb lol im sorry i really don't like geometry
