A high school basketball team has a budget specifically for towels and extra basketballs. A towel costs $6 and a basketball costs $30. Assume the budget is $300 and that 25 towels are needed for the team for the entire season. Use a standard form equation to determine how many basketballs may be purchased by the team.

O.o I don't know how to create the equation thingy but I know how to get the answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how can i get the answer?

OpenStudy (beccaboo333):

Well you can do \[25\times6\] To figure out the total amount of money spent on towels, first.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

150

OpenStudy (beccaboo333):

So that's half of 300. Now you have 150 left over. \[150\div30\] That's how you'll find the amount of basketballs bought.
