I did this course on my own time and found it very helpful. Some of the assignments can be challenging, but that's what we're here for.

There's also a classic called The C programming language by R & C. Good for figuring out C.

I would agree that it is a great resource. The author's are actually K&R (Brian W. Kernighan, Dennis Ritchie). It's pretty famous, as it was co-authored by the creator of C. As such, it can be quite challenging and I would not recommend it for beginners unless you have some previous programming experience.
