NEED HELP with LOGS - The Richter scale is used to measure the magnitude of an earthquake. The magnitude, R, is given by the equation R=0.65log(0.39E)+1.45, where E is the energy (measured in kilowatt-hours) released by the earthquake. my equation 7.5, so 7.5 = 0.65log(0.39E) + 1.45 how do i turn this to form b=log_a

OpenStudy (chrisdbest):

the base is the .65, and the log remains the same

OpenStudy (anonymous):

soo would it be log_ .65?? @chrisdbest

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what about the rest of the variables

OpenStudy (chrisdbest):

it would all be equal to .65

OpenStudy (anonymous):

soooo log_ .65 = .65 ??@chrisdbest

OpenStudy (chrisdbest):

no, so log(7.5)=.65

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhh and what about the rest of the variables like (.39E) and 1.45 @chrisdbest

OpenStudy (chrisdbest):

hmm
