In which of the following situations does a female person express color blindness? A. A dominant allele is located on each of the two X chromosomes B. A recessive allele is located on each of the two X chromosomes C. A dominant allele is located on X chromosome, and a recessive allele is located on another X chromosome D. A recessive allele is located on X chromosome, and another recessive allele is located on Y chromosome

OpenStudy (anonymous):

females have 2 X chromosomes, while males have only 1 since they r XY

OpenStudy (anonymous):

females having 2 X chromosomes give them an advantage because if 1 has the disease, the other one can act as a dominant control and the female is a carrier. The males unfortunatly have only 1 X, so if the X chromosome on male has the disease, ur in a bad situation and will get the disease

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is very hard for females to achieve diseases or linked genes such as color blindness since they have 2 X chromosomes, but it does happen(very rare) and that would be when she has the dominant gene on both X chromosomes

do u understand?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the answer is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a little

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i was going to said b thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well if it is recessive it would be harder to get the color blindness

OpenStudy (anonymous):

being dominant for the trait greatly increases its chances
