can someone explain to me what an adverb in a sentence is ?

Adverbs typically answer questions such as how?, in what way?, when?, where?, and to what extent?
She was walking slowly (Slowly is the adverb.)
The kids are skating together. (the adverb together provides information about how the kids are skating.)
You are quite right. (the adverb quite modifies the adjective right.)
She spoke very loudly. (the adverb very modifies another adverb – loudly.)
and so on :)
