OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

Find an equation of the line that satisfies the given conditions. Through (3, 8); parallel to the line passing through (4, 6) and (0, 2)

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

I got y=4x-4 how is that wrong???

OpenStudy (marissalovescats):

Well since the line is parallel to the one with those given points, it means they have the same slope. And the slope of (4,6)(0,2) is not 4

OpenStudy (marissalovescats):

Then when you find the actual slope, you use the point (3,8) to find your line with the y-y1=m(x-x1)

OpenStudy (marissalovescats):

Did you get what the slope is?
