In studying the gene pool of a population, you find that 15% of the population is homozygous recessive (tt) for a trait. How would you use this information to solve for the frequency of the dominant T allele?

Are you still there? I can help you with this question.

You would use the HW equation: \[p ^{2}+2pq+q ^{2}=1\] Not sure you can actually solve for T though. I have to think. This issue is that you know 15 % are tt, therefore 85% are TT or Tt. I don't think you can solve it because you cannot find the ratio of the TT:Tt.
