A car is traveling at a constant velocity. After two hours the car has traveled 110 miles. After four hours the car has traveled 220 miles. Assuming a linear equation fits this situation, find the linear equation for the given data. y=45x+10 y=55x x=55y y=65x-10

OpenStudy (harsha19111999):

If you want the linear equation from the above data, it is said that the car is travelling with constant velocity. So, it travels 110 miles in 2 hrs = 55 miles/hour. And from the second data you get 220/4=55 miles/hour. So, y may be considered as the distance traveled and x as the time taken.

OpenStudy (igreen):

2 hours = 110 miles 4 hours = 220 miles Just graph them all..

OpenStudy (igreen):

The answer is B.

OpenStudy (igreen):

(2, 110) and (4, 220) both show up on y = 55x.

OpenStudy (harsha19111999):

Yes the answer is B.
