Suppose you balance a 2-kg ball on the tip of your finger, which has an area of 1 cm2. Show that the pressure on your finger is 20 N/cm2, or is 200 kPa @Abhisar

OpenStudy (abhisar):

\[Pressure = \frac{ Force }{area}\]

OpenStudy (abhisar):

(2*9.8)/1 =20N/cm2

OpenStudy (abhisar):

got it ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

we always multiply by9.8?

OpenStudy (abhisar):

yes, sometimes we can take 10 for ease of calculation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i see ok. that makes sense

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ready for next one?

OpenStudy (abhisar):

actually to convert mass into force we multiply mass by accelaration due to gravity i.e 9.8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is making much more sense

OpenStudy (abhisar):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for the next one i will post then i will post my answer and you tell me if i'm right or not ok?

OpenStudy (abhisar):
