Formula: avg speed = total distance / total time total distance = 20 + 0 + 10 = 30 m total time = 4s avg. speed = 30m/4s = 7.5 m/s

but isn't velocity equal to displacement over time, and not distance?

Oh, I read it wrong. It's velocity not speed. Yes, your ans is correct for avg. velocity
