We need an earth science group.

And for miscategorised questions, mods and maybe ambies should be able to transfer questions to the appropriate groups. Maybe with an automatic "your question has been moved, please post in the right section next time" message to the subject. The current method of close (or delete) and writing an explanation to the user in question is inefficient.

Earth science is a good idea, however your second suggestion is even better. Thumbs up all around!

Let's combine it with an astronomy group and call it "Earth & Space Science" :)
And yea the moving questions idea has been a suggestion for a long time. Hope they'll introduce that feature soon.
