\(One~Possibile~Reason~!\) \(H\)mm... \(F\)or ordinary combustible fires, when \(CO2\) is used, it excludes oxygen, it does not cool the burning substances significantly and when the carbon dioxide disperses they are free to catch fire upon exposure to atmospheric oxygen... \(A\)lso, Carbon dioxide avoids combustion as air with content of more than 10% will extinguish an open flame..So, it may be a reason, why Co2 is not used for extinguish the welding fire !! \(Hope~it~helps~!!\) Don't Forget, \(Appreciate~the~Best~Answer\) with a click on \(\color{purple}{"Best Response"}\) Button Too ! \(\color{darkgreen}{~''Nice~To~Meet~You~!!"}\) @ineedromance
