How do i find a turning point for an absolute value function? Does anyone know any good websites or videos that can explain absolute value functions and how to graph them because i cannot figure them out.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

set the expression inside the absolute value to zero and solve

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for example \[y=|x-2|\] would be a V at \((2,0)\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm still confused. Say i had to graph this graph y=\[y= \left| x+5 \right|-6\], what steps would i need to take to graph it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

SOMEONE HELP PLEASEEE!!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

looks just like \(y=|x|\) but moved to the left \(5\) units and down \(6\) put a dot at \((-5,-6)\) and draw the V
