Well.  A reproduction would be something like reproducing babies.  They are not doing that.  I think it MIGHT be a response to a stimulus.  A stimulus is a thing that rouses activity or energy in someone or something; a spur or incentive.  So it is most probably B.  I don't think it's C.  And it definitely isn't D.  So probably B. :P
