What is the degree of this polynomial? 3x^2 - 4x + 9

OpenStudy (igreen):

Degree = highest exponent. So the degree = 2.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, one thing. They called that number a polynomial but it only has 3 terms. Like this number: 4x^2 + 3x that's a binomial right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@iGreen

OpenStudy (igreen):

OpenStudy (igreen):

I don't really understand why they do that either..

OpenStudy (igreen):

Probably just lazy.
